 The THERMOCUT foam cutter is a machine controlled by a computer capable to cut out any 3D objects out from extruded and expanded polystyrene, polyethylene and polypropylene foams. Cutting is done by a hot wire moving in the X-Y plane through the use of micro stepping motors controlled by a computer. This allows making fast and precise cuttings of the foam material. The precision control makes it possible to cut objects of nearly any shape given that their thickness is to be the same as the thickness of material used. By designing and cutting various views of one object it is also possible to construct even more complicated 3D objects. A very simple example of this could for instance be the cutting of an airplane model out of Styrofoam.

 Using of a turntable (an additional equipment available with ThermoCut hot wire foam cutters), one can also cut out all the solids of revolution, including the sphere. As perfect innovation there are also used preformatted wire technology, which let receive unavailable shapes of cut objects using other device. Installed turntable vertically or horizontally gives additional possibilities of 3D work. (The same motor can be used as a turntable or a lathe!)

ARCHITECTURE ELEMENTS

Styrofoam architecture details (moulds, finials, banisters, keystones, parapet caps, balusters) covered by strengthening nets and stuccoes become very popular, due to its weight, easy assembly, precision of realization, price and the fact that they are environmentally friendly.
Columns & corbels, spirals or fluted spirals can be cut with the help of the turn table / lathe.

CASTING FORMS
  One of interesting uses of this plotter is production of positive forms used for moulds, in moulding sand, of details from cast-iron and colored metals ( e.g. aluminum, bronze ). This method of production is cheaper and far more precise than the traditional ones.

ThermoCut Pro 35 foamcutter

Relatively low price of THERMOCUT plotter, which in combination with very cheap raw production materials and high demand for products, makes its purchase probably the most profitable investment for an advertising company.

Remote control allow to avoid necessity of controlling directly from computer. Foam cutter control becomes intuitive and more comfortable. Material processing can be realize under operator control, who can immediately control foam cutter. Operator has influence on basic device parameters, like speed or resistant wire temperature. Remote control is designed also to control revolving table.

TURNTABLE / LATHE

The turntable is a part of additional equipment of THERMOCUT hot wire foam cutters gives you the possibility of cutting solids of revolution. There is also additional possibility to install it in vertical axle which let use it as lathe. Together with the possibility of performing fluent turn it lets cut long solid, for example spirals. The same motor can be used as a revolving table, turntable or as a lathe machine.

PREFORMATTED WIRE (Shape wire with adapter)
0,9 mm in diameter preformatted wire for independent forming, added in option to THERMOCUT foam cutters, lets gain incredible effects.
 
PERSPECTIVE: Independent arm motion ('P' series)
'P' series foam cutter has advanced function of cutting in perspective mode. Independent motion of both arms under special software control give opportunity of cutting solids which consist of two bases with different shapes and dimensions. You can cut cones, pyramids and letters with perspective impression within one cutting cycle. (Not available for Pro 35 Basic and Pro 35.)

Since 1st December 2005 we give 'P' option FREE for ThermoCut machines!

MULTIWIRE ('MW' option)
For several years our standard range of products has included multiwire cutters. Coner thermal cutters may be equipped with one or two arms, each holding up to 5 cutting wires. As a unique feature, Coner thermal cutter detects rupture of individual wires and continues processing from the point it left off after the severed wire has been replaced.
(Only for ThermoCut Pro 130A Midi or bigger machines. Not useable with 'P' option.)

Maximum recommended speed
The highest speed with the maintenance of high quality cutting line. Technological conditions of polystyrene foam (Styrodur) cutting make it impossible to process it with the speed higher than 70 cm per minute. While processing the Styrofoam with the specific gravity 15kg/m3 this speed can be increased to maximum working speed of our devices, that is 70 cm per minute. In case of Styrodur processing it would be possible to increase the value to maximum working speed through making the diameter of resistance wire bigger ( to ca 0,6mm* ). However, the bumming resulting crack would be unacceptable in this case, due to the fact it would grow to ca 2mm, and required power supply would grow to about 1KW, which would make our device very energy-consuming.
* provided diameter of resistance wire is only an example value. In THERMOCUT plotters only resistance wires, with diameters consistent with technical specifications of individual models, provided by manufacturers can be used. Using resistance wires from other sources, and of different diameter or composition can lead to electronic driver malfunction and loss of guarantee.
