The automatic abrasive cleaning option provides a highly efficient solution for keeping the sanding disc clean, ensuring consistent sanding performance and uniform surface quality.

On the MPOL polishing machine, the cleaning cycle interval can be set in the software, specifying after how many seconds of operation the cleaning process should start. The cycle runs fully automatically without operator intervention.

Cleaning cycle process:

• The pneumatically actuated cleaning unit moves the support platform into position.
• The sanding head performs a controlled movement, bringing the sanding disc into contact with the 200×200 mm hook-and-loop felt cleaning element.
• The felt effectively removes accumulated dust and debris from the abrasive surface.

Automatic cleaning significantly reduces abrasive clogging, extends abrasive lifetime, and ensures consistent surface finishing quality.

Machines without the automatic cleaning unit also allow a programmable pause for cleaning. In this case, the sanding head moves aside, and the operator removes dust manually using compressed air. This solution requires continuous supervision and interrupts the production process.
